In 2006 I was honored to receive a Silver Award for my Nihonga painting, Kujira (Orca) from the Setagaya Art Museum. I have shown paintings at the annual juried art exhibition at the Setagaya Art Museum every fall since 2003. The museum is set in Kinuta park in the Setagaya district of Tokyo, Japan

I was inspired to paint 'Kujira' after going on a whale watching excursion off the coast of Victoria on beautiful Vancouver Island.

In December 2007 I received a Special Recognition Award for "Fishermen at Dusk" for the annual juried photography exhibit held at the Setagaya Art Museum.
